Paul Simpson, P.E., M.ASCE past President CLARK COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS Paul is a Project Engineer with GES, Inc. working on various geotechnical, construction, and environmental projects. In addition to his project management duties, Mr. Simpson, as GES’ Ground Source Heat Exchange lead is responsible for providing technical support to clients; preparing proposals; providing educational presentations as needed; and developing feasibility studies. Paul has been with GES since 2002. Paul started as a Mechanical Engineer but decided early on that dirt was more exciting and became a Geotechnical “Rock” star Engineer. Occasionally, Paul has been able to utilize his mechanical engineering background; for example, he created and built GES’ Thermal Conductivity Trailer which is used when conducting GSHE feasibility studies. He operates the equipment and reports the findings in an extensive Thermal Conductivity report. |
Kathryn Robinson, P.E., M.ASCE PRESIDENT atkins Kathryn is a Senior Engineer at Atkins, supporting the transportation design team. Born and raised in the Philippines, she moved to Las Vegas in 2005 and graduated from UNLV with a Civil Engineering degree. She has been with active with ASCE since 2008, and has held positions in the ASCE YMF Board from PE Review Chair, Social/Technical Tour Chair, Treasurer, President and Past-President. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their almost 4 year old son. |
Kondala Rao Mantri, P.E., M.ASCE president-elect atkins Kondala is the Transportation group leader at Atkins in their Henderson office. He has over 15 years of experience in variety of disciplines including traffic studies, arterial and highway design and modeling, track alignment and trackwork design, storm drains, channels and other utility design and most recently Airport Design. Originally from south India, Kondala moved to Las Vegas in 2002 to attend UNLV where he received a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on transportation. Kondala was involved with ASCE and ITE student chapters while at UNLV. After graduating he continued his involvement being a part of the organizing committee for the Annual Fall Transportation Conference. Kondala also served as an officer on the ITE Nevada Chapter starting out as secretary/treasurer in 2013 and president in 2015/2016. Kondala volunteers his time to teach the Geometric Design course for the ASCE YMF PE Review Course. |
Humberto Franco, E.I., M.ASCE secretary CLARK COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS Humberto is an Associate Engineer with Clark County Department of Public Works. Humberto specializes in land development and master planning. Humberto graduated from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada (UNLV) in 2013. Humberto began his ASCE life in 2010 as a board member as the Vice President of events and tours for the ASCE student chapter of UNLV. In 2014 and 2015, he was the Social/Event Coordinator for the Las Vegas YMF where he was able to schedule professional tours and field related technical tours. Recently, Humberto was part of the planning committee for WRYMC 2018 which was held in January in Las Vegas. His responsibilities included coordinating the program, volunteers and events during the two-day conference. Currently, he is the Student Liaison for the Las Vegas YMF and Director I for the Southern Nevada Branch. When he has some free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling to new places. |
Derick Yoro, P.E., M.ASCE treasurer westwood PROFESSIONAL SERVICES Derick Yoro is a Project Manager at Westwood Professional Services in the Land Development Division. Derick has over 25 years of broad-based engineering experience in management, engineering design, civil engineering and project management on residential land development projects, infrastructure planning of projects associated with land development, and various commercial land development projects. His experience includes extensive work in the design of on-site and off-site improvements for master planned communities. He has supervised engineering services for a number of master planned developments throughout Southern Nevada, including Southern Highlands, Summerlin, Coyote Springs, Lake Las Vegas, and Park Highlands. Derick graduated from the University of Hawaii. |
Aditya Inbasekaran, P.E., S.E., M.ASCE DIRECTOR i WRIGHT ENGINEERS Aditya is a Project Manager at Wright Engineers. He gained his Bachelor’s degree from University of Mumbai, India, following which he moved to Arizona in 2014 and graduated from ASU with a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering. Aditya has over 5 years of experience designing buildings in Las Vegas and around the country. His projects include multi-family residential apartments, Tilt-up warehouse/ factories, Tenant improvement, Low rise commercial steel buildings, Elementary/ Middle schools, Sign structures in amusement park etc. He was a part of ASU’s Bollywood dance team. |
Atif Saadi, P.E., ENV SP, M.ASCE DIRECTOR II HORROCKS ENGINEERS Atif is a Senior Engineer at Horrocks Engineers, supporting the transportation design team. Originally from Bangladesh, he moved to New Jersey in 2003 and completed Master’s from NJIT with a Transportation Engineering focus. He was involved with ASCE Legislative team in NJ and participated in DC Fly in. He worked in New Jersey and New York from 2004 to 2011 before returning to Bangladesh to work locally in South Asia. He returned to USA in 2018 and worked in New York before moving to Las Vegas a year ago (09/20) during pandemic. He works in the roadway sector design projects for public departments and private developers. He enjoys company of family and friends, likes to try out different cuisine, follows European soccer and enjoys playing badminton and cricket. |
